Design according to FIDIC – Yellow Book (Build-Design contract)

PROJECT SUMMARY

IWA Consalt Ltd. has done the Preliminary and Final Design of WTP Trnovče, within a wider project, Morava Regional Water Supply, funded by the EU. The project is a type of FIDIC Yellow Book (FIDIC Yellow Book) and type of Design and Construction ("turnkey").
The plant, with capacity of 200 l/s, will purificate the raw ground water from a system of wells in Trnovče to drinking water quality in accordance with the standardsqualirty requirements. The purified water will be transfer via pumping stations to consumers in the municipalities of Velika Plana and Smederevska Palanka.
The plant is designed to continuously, 24 hours a day produces 200l / s (720m³ / h) of potable water.
Purification process can be divided into the water line, the line purification of water from washing filters, sludge line and auxiliary systems.

1. Water treatment line is consisting of:

  • Aeration
  • The first stage of filtration
  • Oxidation (optional dosage of potassium permanganate)
  • The second stage of filtration
  • System for washing filters
  • The tank and pump station of clean water
  • Disinfection (chlorination)

2. Purification line of water from filter washing filters is consisting of:

  • Collecting water from washing filters in compensating reservoirs / Deposition
  • Coagulation / Flocculation with a dosage of ferric chloride
  • Deposition on the lamella of tubular precipitator
  • Filtration
  • UV disinfection

3. Sludge line is consisting of:

  • Thickening of sludge with the addition of polyelectrolyte
  • Sludge dewatering

4. Auxiliary systems is consisting of:

  • Service air
  • Service water
  • Fire protection

PROJECT SUMMARY

IWA Consalt Ltd. has done the project documentation for the central plant for the reception and treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater from the urban area of Leskovac and surrounding suburbs.
Related to capacity, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is designed to be built in two phases, in approximate ratio 2/3+1/3. Biological capacity for first phase is 86 000 PE, while second phase includes capacity increase to final 129 000 PE.

WWTP construction is planned in several phases:

  • I phase - complete wastewater treatment line (except for the phosphorous removal process) and main elements of sludge treatment line (thickening and dewatering) for 86.000 PE capacity
  • IIa phase – sludge line completion (anaerobic stabilization and final thickening) for 86.000 PE capacity
  • IIb phase - wastewater treatment line upgrade to final capacity of 129 000 PE
  • IIc phase - sludge line for final capacity (129 000 PE) and phosphorus reduction units.

The scope of this project documentation is a line for waste water treatment for 84 000 PE and dewatering (thickening and dewatering) of sludge for capacity of 126 000 PE.

PROJECT SUMMARY

In order to protect the river Sava from pollution by municipal wastewater originating from urban areas of Šabac and surrounding suburbs, it is planned to construct the city's central waste water treatment plant. It is envisaged that this facility will treat collected household waste water and industrial effluents.
IWA Consalt Ltd. has done the project documentation for the construction of this object. Related to capacity, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is designed to be built in two phases. Phasing is defined by the biological load in the ratio of 2/3 +1/3. WWTP capacity for first phase is 84 000 PE, while for the end of the project period, extension is foreseen to the final capacity of 126 000 PE.

Construction of WWTP will be performed according to below stated phases:

  • Phase I - nvolves the construction of a complete line for water treatment (from the exit of grit chamber to the discharge in the recipient) for 84000 PE, the command-administrative block and the basic units of sludge line (primary sludge gravity thickener, belt thickener for excess sludge, sludge storage and blending, conditioning with polymer and dewatering on belt filter presses) for capacity of 126 000 PE
  • Phase II – complete line for sludge stabilization (anaerobic digesters and all related equipment) for 126 000 PE
  • Phase III - Upgrading wastewater treatment line to capacity of 126 000 ES
